Maternity Photo Shoot - Part II

Last week I spoke about a maternity photo shoot I had with Charla and Leandro. (Click here to read that blog.) I would like to continue on that subject, concentrating more on my favorite images from that photo session. Today I will talk about what I believe makes these particular images more appealing than others from that same photo shoot.

In this first image I wanted to capture the beautiful trees that are in this park. I wanted to use the trees to my advantage to create a nice background. The trees in this image have long branches that span outwards. They are also covered in green leaves and grey hanging moss, which is what I believe makes these trees so appealing.

On the other side of the image is a lake (that at my last visit to the park was much more attractive) that helps frame the image along with the tree and its long branches. I believe this image works precisely for this reason; the tree as well as the lake frame the image. This keeps the couple in the spotlight where they should be.

This next image is somewhat less about the couple and more about the baby. This park runs along side a river, which is usually full of fishermen. Lucky for us, there was nobody fishing on the day of our photo shoot, which gave us the opportunity to capture this next image.

This image was taken on the boardwalk along side the river. The boardwalk seems to be fairly old, which actually adds to the image. The boards, as well as the lines and cracks in the wood, adds character to the image and creates leading lines to the couples feet and pair of baby shoes. The piece of wood boarder of the dock actually helps the image by adding nice depth of field to the photograph.

So these were a couple of my favorite images from this maternity photo shoot and my explanation for how I created the images. To return to Part I of this blog click here. At the bottom of this blog are a few more images from this photo session. If you would like to book a photo shoot with me I would love to hear from you! You can contact me here. Thank you for taking the time to enjoy my blog post! I hope to see you again on the next one!
